Lemon Drop Cocktail

Day 51

Lemon Drop
4.5 shots out of 5

WOW!  I have not had one of these in years!

It's quite lemony.....well.......as it should be!

I think the one I was made all of these years ago was with made with lemon drop mix though instead of using the real stuff.

I gave tonight's cocktail 4.5 shots out of 5.

I am really enjoying my Lemon Drop!

It's very lemony, but the sugar rimmed glass makes it all tie in well together.

I had found a few different recipes online for a lemon drop, so I stuck to a basic one and it worked well!

For those of you who do enjoy the lemon flavor, I think you will definitely like this cocktail!

I even have a couple of friends over here tonight who all have a lemon drop in their hands and they both gave me a "mmmmm smile" after their first sip, so it's a definite winner!

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here is the recipe for a Lemon Drop:

  • 2 shots vodka
  • 1 shot lemon juice
  • 1 tsp simple syrup

Take a martini glass and wet the rim with lemon juice, then dip it into sugar to get a good sugar rim.  In a shaker add ice, vodka, lemon juice and simple syrup.  Shake it up real good to mix all of the ingredients.  Strain your cocktail into your sugar rimmed martini glass and enjoy!!

Here's to a very lemony cocktail!  Wasn't sure that I would like this cocktail as much as I am, I have to admit.  It's a good one though!  Worth a try!

Cheers!!

  1. So after I made this, my husband and oldest came home from the sports store. He wanted me to make him one, so he tried it and wasn't a huge fan of it. Then he made me his version......yea I liked it a lot better! So here it is:

    -3/4 shot vodka
    -1/4 shot triple sec
    -1/2 shot lemon juice
    -1/2 shot simple syrup

You do everything else the same with the sugared glass rim and shaker.

    Cheers!!

  2. I tried the revised version and it's pretty darn good - I used Splenda to make my simple syrup (works like a charm) since I'm diabetic.

    1. Oh good! I'm glad you like the revised version. I almost wished he'd have come home sooner so that I could have just posted that one, haha. I use Splenda in my coffee at home. I love it! I had to start using it during my 3rd pregnancy as I had Impaired Glucose Tolerance (the opposite in some ways as Gestational Diabetes). Ever since I had to use it during my pregnancy, I never stopped! Thank You for your comment! Cheers!
