Peach Margarita
3.5 shots out of 5
I am a BIG fan of these Finest Call purees, I must say!
I'm enjoying using them to create my blended cocktails.
I'm looking forward to my next trip to the liquor store to find out what other flavors they sell!!

I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5.
I was a little disappointed in myself because I wanted this cocktail to taste more like peaches.
My husband says that he can taste the peach flavor, but I can't taste it all that much. I think I'll try to make it again another night and amend my ingredient amounts a little.
I do need to tell you though, that the photo of the end result below was fresh out of the blender, so it looks kinda whitish, where now as I'm blogging about it and it's sitting, the ingredients have settled and it's now the color that I thought it would be which is a peachy orange color.

To me this cocktail kind of tastes like a blended margarita.....wait, let me take another sip.........yup, I was right!
I mean I kind of taste the peach, but not like I want to.
Oh well, can't make a "5 shoter" every night.
I think if I was to lessen the sweet & sour and add more of the peach puree I would have had it tasting more like I wanted it to.

Here is the recipe for the Peach Margarita:
- 1 shot tequila (yes I said tequila, yikes!)
- 1/4 shot triple sec
- 1/4 shot lime juice
- 1 1/2 shots sweet & sour mix
- 1 shot peach puree
In a blender add 1 cup of ice, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, sweet & sour mix and peach puree. Blend until your ice is completely gone. Pour and enjoy!!
I guess even the cocktail lady doesn't get it right all the time, haha, totally kidding, I'm still learning how to and what to mix to make these cocktails work!
Cheers!!

I found peach puree at my humongous local liquor purveyor :) Based on your commentary, I decreased the sweet and sour to 1 shot and upped the peach puree to 1.5 shots. It tastes pretty peachy to me with that ratio. I like it! Thanks for the recipe.
ReplyDeleteYOU DID!!!! Wonderful!! I'm glad you found it. Sounds like a good amendment to me, I think I'll try that next time I'm making margaritas, Thank You! Hopefully they'll have different puree flavors for you to try at your liquor store!! Too exciting! Cheers!!
DeleteActually, they have about 10 different flavors of the fruit purees there, but I just picked up the peach yesterday. I think I'll get the mango, and the banana (about which I have some trepidation based on some bad experiences with banana flavored drinks in my youth :).
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit late to the party on this post, but I just found this blog (love it btw). If you are looking to increase the peachiness you may want to sub out the triple sec for peach schnapps. I've never made it frozen but that's what I use when I make it on the rocks
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter when you comment, I'm glad you found my blog! That is a great idea to make it taste peachier, I think I'll use peach schnapps next time. Glad you love my blog, I'm having a great time with it =)
