Blue Ocean

Day 82

Blue Ocean
2.5 shots out of 5

Another cocktail I found on Pinterest was the Blue Ocean

It looked yummy and had a cute tropical flower to garnish it, so hey why not give it a shot.

Sometimes it amazes me just how much some of these cocktails get around that site just because of how good they "look".

I gave tonight's cocktail 2.5 shots out of 5.

It was ok.

Nothing fabulous.

Yes it's blue.

Yes that looks fun, but as I learned in my Silk Panties post ""blue caraçao doesn't make "every" cocktail taste good".

That being said, it wasn't horrible.

I wouldn't order it at a bar or make it again at home, but I did want to try it.........and try it I did.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! I had a fun weekend celebrating a good friends birthday. We went to an amazing place for dinner that has a hundred and some odd beers on tap and has an equally amazing cocktail list!

I tasted 3 of my friends cocktails which were suuuuper good, and ordered a hurricane myself.......ahh, it was pretty good, but doesn't compare to Husbands Hurricane!

Here is the recipe for Blue Ocean:

  • 1 shot vodka
  • 1/2 shot blue curacao
  • 1/3 shot grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 shot simple syrup
In a shaker add ice, vodka, blue curacao, grapefruit juice and simple syrup. Shake it up real good. In a brandy snifter (I just learned today from another good friend of mine that it's called a snifter and not a sniffer like I said in my Tequila Sunrise. She was kind enough to not call me out on it here, but I wanted to Thank her for telling me now instead of letting me continuously call it the wrong thing for the rest of the year! Thanks Marisa!!) add ice and strain your cocktail into the glass.

Here's to another Monday! Don't these cocktails make the weeks just a little bit more enjoyable? Absolutely!!

Cheers!!
