Banana Pineapple Colada

Day 115

Banana Pineapple Colada
4 shots out of 5

I found this blended cocktail recipe for a Frozen Tropical Colada and wanted to make it.

Then I remembered that one of my children finished off the orange juice yesterday.......boo, so I decided to make it anyways and just omit the orange juice.

I gave tonight's cocktail 4 shots out of 5.

On a hot day like today (especially when you're running around playing laser tag with your husband and boys), I needed a blended cocktail.

As we know, I looove banana puree and liqueur in my cocktails so I did a search for one and found this one (a little amended).

I can taste where the orange juice is missing in this cocktail and think I will make this cocktail another night and include the orange juice.

The orange juice needs to cut through the pineapple juice in this cocktail, but even though I don't have it tonight, it's still a good cocktail!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

If not, blend yourself up a cocktail and see if that helps......if it doesn't.....shoot, blend another!!

Here is the recipe for a Banana Pineapple Colada:

  • 2 oz coconut rum
  • 1 oz banana liqueur
  • 4 oz banana puree
  • 1 oz pineapple juice
  • splash of grenadine

In a blender add 1/2 cup of ice, rum, banana liqueur and puree and pineapple juice.  Blend up your ingredients until all of your ice is gone.  In a hurricane glass pour your splash of grenadine and then your blended cocktail.  You can garnish with a cherry and umbrella if you're feeling extra fancy!

Here's to the first Saturday of summer vacation!  I'm looking forward to a summer of fun, adventures and cocktails!!

Cheers!!

  1. Interesting-- not sure I'd love it, with the banana stuff, but it does look refreshing!

    1. I know exactly what you mean!! And honestly if I was not the one doing this blog, I honestly think I would have skipped the cocktails with banana "anything" in them. The thought of bananas in my cocktail just didn't sound right. BUT, ever since I tried my first banana cocktail, I've been in love with the stuff! It's one of my favorite things to add in now!

I'm happy you found my blog!! I love hearing from everyone. Have you had a chance to try any of these cocktails? Keep on touch!
