Florida Freeze

Day 121

Florida Freeze
3.5 shots out of 5

We made it!!

Another week under our belt.

This was our first week of No School for the boys!

Boy did they enjoy sleeping in and taking it easy for this past week......actually they didn't have much of a choice with my foot being out of commission, haha.

It was a very nice, hot day today which absolutely called for me pulling out the blender!

I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5.

I do like dark rum, but think I need to get used to the different flavor it has compared to light or amber rum.

This is a relaxing cocktail.......meaning that it doesn't have all of these fruity, sweet flavors making your taste buds go crazy, it's just a nice calm-like cocktail to sit back at the end of the day and enjoy.

If you enjoy dark rum, I think you will definitely enjoy this cocktail, it's worth a try for sure.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is the recipe for a Florida Freeze:

  • 1 1/4 oz dark rum
  • 1 1/4 oz coconut cream
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
In a blender, add a cup of ice, rum, coconut cream, orange and pineapple juices.  Blend up your cocktail until all of your ice is gone.  Pour into a red wine glass and enjoy!

Here's to me getting a real taste for dark rum.  Usually it's mixed with other rums to where I don't really get to taste the real flavor of it........it's not bad!

Cheers!!
