Orange Bomber
3.5 shots out of 5
I'll admit it........I was scared petrified about adding peppermint schnapps to tonight's cocktail.
The last time I had a go round with it, I had made Liquid Valium......YUCK!!
That cocktail had put a bad taste in my mouth (total Cocktail Lady humor, once again) and made me push the peppermint schnapps waaaay to the back of my bar for a while.
I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5.
I have had many screwdrivers........but never had I once thought of using coconut rum in them.
HELLO!!
Never again (unless I'm out of coconut rum and absolutely have to have a screwdriver) will I have a screwdriver without it!
This cocktail has you adding peppermint schnapps to it.
The amount of schnapps added would be the absolute most I would put into this cocktail for sure.
It does not ruin the cocktail by any means, but the peppermint flavor is a bit surprising.
Kinda leaves my mouth refreshed after every sip.........which kinda, in the back of my head, reminds me of mouthwash.
Pushing that thought aside, this isn't a bad cocktail at all!
Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is the recipe for an Orange Bomber:
- 2 oz coconut rum
- 1/2 oz peppermint schnapps
- 2 oz orange juice
In a short cocktail glass, fill it with ice and add all of your ingredients. Stir them up well and enjoy!
Here's to giving peppermint schnapps another shot. It will now find a place a bit closer to the front of the shelf in the bar.
Cheers!!
The Cocktail Lady
