Sake Screw

Day 120

Sake Screw
3.5 shots out of 5

Tonight I felt like combining some sake with orange juice, since I did pineapple juice a few days ago and it was a hit!

I figured I'd give it a name that resembled what I was imitating, yet tell you what it actually is.

I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5.

I think the pineapple juice in my Sake Sunrise may have been a little bit better then the orange juice, but it was worth a shot.

I must admit, the sake in this cocktail does give it a different spin on the common Screw Driver.

I do like the different taste to this simple cocktail, it's nice.

Not a bunch of screaming flavor as this sake has a pretty calm flavor plus I only used 1 shot of orange juice, but in its simplicity, it was good!

Not sure that you can tell by this photo of my cocktail, but I used a product that was sent to me to try out called Sipping Stones.

I did a product review on it this evening which you can find here as well.

I placed 3 sipping stones into tonight's cocktail, and I have to say that they have kept my cocktail glass chilled exactly where the liquid is!

They do not make your entire cocktail super cold (which I don't think is their intent), but they do keep it chilled enough to enjoy it!

The sake works well with the stones too, because you don't want to drink your sake super cold, just chilled enough.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is the recipe for Sake Screw:

  • 1 shot sake
  • 1 shot orange juice
  • 3 sipping stones (haha, or ice if you don't have any sipping stones)
In a short glass, place 3 sipping stones (or a few pieces of ice) at the bottom.  Add your sake and orange juice and stir.

Another good sake cocktail for the books.  Thank You to Sipping Stones for chilling tonight's cocktail perfectly!

Cheers!!
