Crooked Golf Cart

Day 255

Crooked Golf Cart
4 shots out of 5

Yes we're recording tonight's game.

I'm making my cocktail while my husband and oldest finish up their soccer game.

After all that is done we will all sit down and watch......can't....contain....my excitement!!

I'm sick (yes again.......4 kids remember, lol) and my taste buds aren't working the way they should.

The combo of both kinda makes me not in the mood to find a cocktail, and as I was searching I got an "amazingly perfect timing" tweet from Janice!

She gave me the recipe for tonight's cocktail......which I amended a little bit from the link she sent me (actually in the link she sent it stated that you may want to add more amaretto because the cranberry juice overpowers it).

I gave tonight's cocktail 4 shots out of 5.

Thank You Janice for your yummy recipe and "perfect" timing!

The site that she sent me (found here) was right, the cranberry juice does take away from the amaretto flavor.

Already thinking that, I cut back on the cranberry juice and upped the amaretto.

The 2 lime wedges and "splash" of rum I kept the same.

This is a pretty refreshing cocktail.

The cranberry juice gives it that refreshing taste and the amaretto, rum and lime give it a nice complimenting taste that works quite well.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is my amended recipe for a Crooked Golf Cart:

  • 4 oz cranberry cocktail juice
  • 1 1/2 oz amaretto
  • 1/4 oz light rum
  • 2 lime wedges
In a tall cocktail glass filled with crushed ice, pour in 2 ounces of cranberry juice.  Next pour in your amaretto, followed by your remaining 2 ounces of cranberry juice.  Stir and top with the rum and squeeze in your lime wedges.

Thank You again Janice for saving me tonight and sending me the link to this cocktail!

Cheers!!

  1. I'm so glad my suggestion came at the perfect time! Your cocktail definitely looks prettier than mine (must get better glassware). I love the improvements you made to the recipe!

  2. Well, hey, cranberry juice is full of vitamin C to help combat that illness. Maybe you should have another one. :)

  4. I don't have any dog in the fight, so good luck for your Giants tonight! Hope you're feeling better and your sense of taste has returned.
