Gingerbread Coffee Cake Cocktail

Day 307

Gingerbread Coffee Cake Cocktail
4 shots out of 5

Gingerbread is something that is associated with Christmas.

When I hear gingerbread of think of cookies......especially the ones shaped like little men.  Times are changing and now I would like to drink my gingerbread.......with alcohol of course!

It's mix of coffee, Baileys, hazelnut liqueur, spiced rum and cake vodka make this cocktail delicious!

One of my very best friends is coming over tonight to watch our kids while my husband and I go out on a dinner and movie date!

We are soooo excited!

Nights like tonight are very rare and come once in a blue moon.  Thank You from the bottom of our hearts Veronica, we appreciate this more then you know!

I gave tonight's cocktail 4 shots out of 5.

My husband actually found this recipe at the end of a talk show while flicking through channels.  He said it looked good, so I found the recipe online at the cbs website and thought I'd give it a try.

I did not have two of the four ingredients for this cocktail (odd being The Cocktail Lady and all).

Apparently there's a Bailey's Hazelnut liqueur (instead I'm mixing 1/2 Baileys and 1/2 Frangelico) which I don't have as well as Captain Morgan's Black Spiced Rum (I only have the regular spiced rum).

None the less I decided to go for it.

All in all, this is a pretty good cocktail.

The coffee flavor kicks in at the end, which I thought was a nice touch.  Thank you Sandra Lee for you cocktail this evening......or my slightly amended version of it.

Here is my amended version of the Gingerbread Coffee Cake Cocktail:

  • 1 oz coffee
  • 1/2 oz baileys
  • 1/2 oz hazelnut liqueur
  • 1/2 oz spiced rum
  • 1/2 oz cake vodka

In a shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients above.  Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass.

Here's to my husband for keeping an eye out for more fun and yummy cocktails!

Cheers!!
