Creamy Spring Peep

Since we had way too many things going on before St. Patrick's Day, as well as our youngest getting sick for a week, I decided to get an early start on my Easter cocktails.

I went to the store the other day and bought a pack of Peeps, a regular Cadbury Egg and a Caramel Cadbury Egg.

I figured I'd get some inspiration out of these three springtime treats.

I created today's cocktail and took it outside......in the front of our house......to take it's picture.

We live on a sort of popular street where you will get cars driving up and down it at anytime of the day.  Let me tell you how amazingly non-lushy I felt as I brought my cocktail out for the whole neighborhood to see.....in the early afternoon.

I'm sure my neighbors either thought, "Hey, she must be The Cocktail Lady" (yea right, wishful thinking), "Is she crazy?  Who takes pictures of their cocktails and alcohol bottles in their front yard?"  or "Uh.......she must really like cocktails!  Quick, lock the doors."

Either way, I got it done and now I get to tell all of you about it!

I realized as I was creating this cocktail that I don't have very many cocktails with marshmallow vodka mixed in them.....so here is one to add to my small collection.

I really like the combination of these ingredients together.

You get a little bite from the vodka, but in a really good way.  When you're done, you get to eat your peep......or dip him in as you drink.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is my recipe for a Creamy Spring Peep:

  • 1 1/2 ounces marshmallow vodka
  • 1 ounces Baileys
  • 1/2 ounce milk
  • 1/2 ounce grenadine

You can rim your cocktail glass with bright spring colored sprinkles like I did if you would like.  In a shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients.  Shake and dump your mixture into your cocktail glass.  Garnish with a peep of your choice!

Here's to getting an early start at......anything really.

Cheers!!

The Cocktail Lady
